As it consolidates its position as an international lifestyle hub, the latest THRENDS Destination Snapshot data reveals unprecedented growth.
– International demand: Foreign arrivals have grown at an annual rate of 37.4% (CAGR 2020–2024). In 2024, international overnight stays reached 197,700, marking a +256% increase compared to 2020.
– The race for 5-star status: The luxury offering shows no signs of slowing down. While there are currently six five-star hotels, the pipeline forecasts as many as ten by 2027.
– Investments and assets: Between 2021 and 2026, 14 hotel transactions were recorded, totalling approximately €160 million. A full €70 million was concentrated exclusively on luxury assets.
– Brands and chains: Historically dominated by independent hotels, the market is experiencing 16.1% growth in affiliations (CAGR 2013–2025).
