Mestre district to overcome Venice’s limitedness for new rooms

The next 3 years will be crucial for Venice hotel development. As it becomes almost impossible to find room for development in the Island, Mestre district is destined to play the role of the substitute.
Having planned to invest further into the repositioning of the area, with the opening of the M9 museum and the next revamping around the FS station, Mestre is struggling to take part from the perception of “bus operators parking” district to embrace the image of a “smart” and “accessible” alternative to Venice, since many international brands have landed there.
On May 20th the new “hotel district of Mestre” has been launched in Via Ca Marcello, which welcomed the A&O Hostel, the Wombat’s hostel, the Stay City residence and the 7Days Premium budget hotel, as well as the Leonardo Royal (upscale). Further developments are expected to take place in 2-3 years on the Marghera side of the railway station.

New rumours, dated April 2019, revealed the alleged planning of the first 5 star hotel in the area (unknown investor) not far from the M9 museum.
The investors’ interest to Mestre is now as high as it is for the Lido, where rumours place the curiosity of Club Mediterraneé and TH, after London +Regional has already took over the management of the Excelsior and the Des Bains (to come).
