An important urban regeneration project will bring to MilanoSesto, among other things a hotel that will be built (in 2026) close to the new Sesto San Giovanni station and near the future “Città della Salute e della Ricerca” (City of Health and Research).
Amapa will manage the hotel in franchising, and has signed a 25-year lease contract through the “Unione 0” real estate fund, managed by Prelios SGR and participated by Hines and Cale Street. Amapa is a domestic hotel group which manages several properties branded with Accor’s brands, and now it will therefore also manage the dual branded complex of 301 keys that will operate with two Accor brands with different positioning. Novotel, in fact, will occupy 204 rooms and will offer accommodation solutions for short stays, for leisure and business customers, while Adagio will offer 97 serviced apartments intended for medium-long term use. The building will be distributed over 19 floors, which will be developed on about 16 thousand square meters above ground.
The new complex will represent the 8th facility managed by Amapa in franchising with brands of the Accor group:
- Mercure Petriolo Siena Terme Spa Hotel, 4* with 78 keys, in Bagni di Petriolo (GR);
- Mercure Leonardo Da Vinci Airport, 4* with 187 keys, in Fiumicino (RM);
- Mercure Genova San Biagio, 4* with 120 keys, in Genova (GE);
- Mercure Nerocubo Rovereto, 4* with 101 keys, in Rovereto (TN);
- Novotel Roma Eur, 4* from 126 chivai, in Rome (RM);
- Novotel Firenze Nord Aeroporto, 4* with 180 keys, in Sesto Fiorentino (FI);
- Novotel Genova City, 4* with 222 keys, in Genova (GE).
Ampa is currently managing 16 hotels, including 2 properties with Hilton brands, and one with an IHG brand.
On the other hand, in pipeline, in addition to the hotel in MilanoSesto, there is a Tribe Milano Malpensa, 4* with 240 keys, also by Accor whose opening is scheduled for 2023. Other hotels opening in the coming years are: the Courtyard Milano Est (2022) by Marriott, the Hilton Garden Inn Padova and, finally, the Hotel Magic Valmontone Roma.
The development of the Novotel-Adagio in MilanoSesto represents, in addition to being the second Adagio property in pipeline in Italy, also among the few experiences of development of dual branded hotels in Italy, after the Novotel & Ibis Milano Ca’ Granda (304 keys in total). Another similar project is the recent rebranding of the Chia Laguna Resort in Domus De Maria (CA) in Sardinia with the double brand Curio Collection and Conrad Hotels & Resort.
